reactivation of a substantial
Alphabeta is the newest architectural expression of the 'new economy', a fusion of the landmark architecture of the modern corporate HQ with the small office cluster and associated chill-out zones, roof-top bars, lofty atriums and general creative vibe.
The Ramp allows cyclists to ride into the building through the Worship Street entrance of Alphabeta and down into the secure storage and changing facilities in the basement. Without stopping. Read more here.
Final designs are nearing completion on the Building In The Sky at Alphabeta. Over four floors, and with extraordinary views over both Finsbury Square and Shoreditch, this entirely unique office space represents an outstanding opportunity on 50,000 to 100,000 sq ft for a major single occupier. An exciting interchange
between creativity, connectivity
Driven by high-grade technical performance, materiality and sustainability, we are committed to nurturing the building’s proud heritage. At the heart of the design is the belief that the best working practice stems from interaction, play and chance encounter as well as quiet concentration.
Alphabeta rejects traditional notions of the controlled office and instead, offers an adaptable space designed for the enjoyment of a creative and empowered workforce.
By restoring and reformatting a series of historic buildings with a sophisticated urban aesthetic, an active and vibrant communal area has been created.
The design offers a variety of spaces and features, from the atrium cafe overlooking the ride-in cycle ramp, to the eighth floor terrace, providing panoramic views across the capital.
At nine storeys high, a dramatic central atrium shapes the dynamic lobby within Alphabeta. A network of meeting places that create opportunities for chance encounters and informal meetings outside the office, are situated off-lobby.
The glazed occupier meeting rooms that cantilever out into the atrium, at various levels, offer privacy without a sense of isolation from the building’s community.
A communal eighth-floor roof terracing for informal meetings, gatherings or viewfinding.

Alphabeta is targetting a low-energy rating with a comprehensive set of energy saving features. An advanced lighting system will perform as one of the most important contributors to lowering energy demand. A new glazed roof on the Atrium will increase overall insulation value and reduce solar gains and subsequent summer cooling loads. Timber from certified renewable sources is to be used throughout, while a repurposing of the existing concrete frame, façade and internal walls and floors of the existing building will avoid the energy and materials waste associated with a total demolish - rebuild scheme.
Alphabeta encourages cycling to work - the most sustainable form of transport. A secure, 210-space cycle store at Lower Ground floor level and a dedicated entrance ramp will allow cyclists to ride directly into the building.
A compelling new destination
with a mix of exclusive retail
and restaurant opportunities
To the north, Alphabeta docks directly with Worship Street; a rapidly developing quarter of shops, workplaces and restaurants. Along the extensive street frontage, 20,000 sq ft of new retail and restaurant spaces will forge Alphabeta into a lifestyle destination in its own right.
